Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S9 and S9 +

After several months of all kinds of leaks and speculation, Samsung Electronics introduced the flagship smartphone Galaxy S9. The two-piece novelty became the embodiment of the best ideas of the manufacturer, which successfully proved themselves in last year’s model, as well as a number of new developments, which had not been used before in the production of mobile equipment.

At first glance, the appearance of the novelty has hardly changed. Insider plums, which testified to Samsung’s plans to further increase the ratio of the display to the area of the front panel, turned out to be false. But rumors were confirmed about equipping the device with stereo speakers and unifying the design with Note 8 – in comparison with the Galaxy S8, the “nine” looks less round, without losing any of it in efficiency.

Some conversions have undergone the back of the smartphone. The manufacturer listened to the consumers’ reviews and changed the location of the fingerprint scanner, transferring it under the peephole of the main camera. How this will affect the usability of the service, time will tell, but it’s hardly worth counting on drastic changes.

The hardware stuffing of smartphones consists of 8-core Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810 processors (depending on the geography of deliveries), 4 and 6 GB of RAM for junior and senior models respectively and 64/128/256 GB of built-in storage. Diagonal displays remained the same: 5.8 inches for the Galaxy S9 and 6.2 for the Galaxy S9 + with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels.

The main Galaxy S9 camera, despite its previous resolution of 12 Mp, boasts a variable aperture metric (from f / 1.5 to f / 2.4), supports video recording in slo-mo at 960 frames per second and Dual Pixel technology. Galaxy S9 +, in turn, received a system of two cameras for capturing portrait photos, previously only available to owners of Galaxy Note 8.

For security, Galaxy S9 meets a combined identification system. The engineers of the company managed to combine face recognition technology with the iris scanner. The complex system of verification of personality is more preferable because it provides for different scenarios of use. For everyday life, the Face Unlock function works well, whereas, for the verification of payments and access to protected files, you will need to use the IRIS-scanner.

Bixby and artificial intelligence

Separate attention deserves deep integration of firm firmware Samsung and technologies of the added reality. Thanks to this Galaxy S9 and S9 + cannot only reproduce an emoji, the use of which is very doubtful, but also with the help of Bixby in real time to make the transfer when the camera is aimed at a foreign text, and also to determine almost any objects that fall into the lens.
